Post Christmas Meal Ideas

Happy Post Christmas! Okay, it's a few days after Christmas and you might be getting tired of leftovers, whatever they are. Don't get me wrong - I could live on leftovers, especially the holiday variety. But, sadly, my husband does not share that sentiment.

Oh, he's not above a reheated dinner...but he prefers something new. I honestly think he just likes new food, and gets bored eating the same stuff three nights in a row. (I have taken to freezing the leftovers and resurrecting them later in the month. But don't tell him that.

Anyhow, in the spirit of the season and giving I found you a few recipe ideas to spice up your holiday leftover blues. Enjoy!

Chicken & Stuffing

Bow Tie Pasta with Chicken & Broccoli

Cheesy Beef Stroganoff

Chicken Broccoli Bake

Chicken Enchilada Casserole

Why not try something new for dinner tonight? Leave the land of leftovers for awhile and venture into uncharted tastebud territories!

Welcome to Holiday Candy Land!

At our house, we have a tradition to play a few solid games of Candy Land at Christmas time while making Christmas goodies, candies and treats. In between batches of fudge and decorating sugar cookies, I sacrifice my last thread of holiday sanity to a game I know I can win, but I never do.

(It's way more fun to watch your four-year-old's eyes light up when they realize they just drew the winning blue card.) It's about the giving right? Back to the Christmas treats...whether you are making just enough to share at the office or oodles of goodies to spread around town, try some of our favorite holiday candy recipes. You won't be disappointed!

Caramel Pecan Fudge

Breakfast Ideas for Thanksgiving Day

Thanksgiving Day is one week away and I'm guessing you know exactly what you'll be having for dinner! Potroast! Kidding...Turkey, right? And I'll bet you've got most of the menu ironed out, whether you are staying home or contributing to dinner at a friend or relative's house.

But what are you having for breakfast? Thanksgiving Day was always a busy day at our house growing up. My mom is all about the traditional Thanksgiving Turkey Dinner with all the fixings. Still, she always managed something clever, AND EASY, for breakfast.

I've found some simple breakfast ideas for you to try this Thanksgiving for breakfast. Because so many of us usually eat a pretty big afternoon or evening meal that day, it's probably best to keep breakfast a little on the lighter side.

Spicy Apple Crepes

Bacon Melt

Amish Pumpkin Bread

Egg Muffins

Blackberry Breakfast Bars

Whatever you decide to feed your family on Thanksgiving morning, keep it simple and keep it fun. Enjoy the day with your family and enjoy the food!

Baked Bites You Can Back!

With the holidays looming and most of us doing at least some baking and entertaining, it's easy to get overwhelmed in the kitchen. Before you know it, it's 5:00 PM and little people are running in yelling "I'm hungry!" and "What's for dinner?" at random intervals.

I propose a solution. Keep your head cool and your oven warm. Pull out those casserole dishes and baking implements and bake your dinner. Baking something warm and hearty for dinner insures the family gets fed and you don't get overfed with holiday kitchen worries.

Basic Biscuits

Baked Lemon Chicken

Baked Curried Chicken

Baked Chicken Salad

Baked Barbecue Pork Chops
