Things I'd Like To Eat For Breakfast

...but probably shouldn't. I admit it. One of my new year's resolutions was to trim down a bit. Nothing too drastic but it couldn't hurt to walk off a little bit of the 2012 weight gain right? Isn't it funny how as soon as you decide to lose a little weight or eat more healthy or get more regular activity, things like dessert and rich foods haunt your waking thoughts?

Maybe it's just me. Anyway...although I haven't done too bad so far, these kind of images keep floating past my eyes. Yikes! In the spirit of "we're all in this together" I thought I would pass on a few really good looking dishes.

Banana Pancakes with Coconut

Blueberry Muffins

Chocolate Mousse Crepes

Coconut Upside Down Cake

Apricot Oatmeal Bars

If one of these recipes didn't do it for you, visit Alicia's Recipes for all sorts of breakfast, dessert and tasty treats for you to try. Or connect with us on Facebook and share your favorite naughty breakfast to indulge in.

Chicken And Chocolate!

How's your year going so far? If you are anything like me and my family, we are as busy as ever and only three weeks into the year. If we keep up this pace we'll burn out by St. Patrick's Day!

Tried any new recipes yet? I thought I would shake things up a bit this week and put together a few fabulous dishes to really rock your cooking world. Who doesn't love chocolate? (Well, maybe people allergic to chocolate...) And even the most particular eaters can typically handle chicken in some form or another.

So I came up with a chicken and chocolate theme this week!

Chocolate Cake Balls

Chile Lime Chicken

Chocolate Chip Cinnamon Cookies

Chicken Stir Fry

Chocolate Chip Bar Cookies

These are just to get you started and we have tons more over at Alicia's Recipes. Or connect with us on Facebook to share your favorite chicken or chocolate recipe with our foodie community!

Resolutions and Chicken Recipes!

Silly Question: What are your new year resolutions? If you are like most of us your resolutions may sound something like "lose weight, get healthy and pay down/off debt." Hey, me too! One great way to take a bite out of all three of those resolutions is (drum roll please): Chicken.

Yes, chicken. Eating more chicken and/or fish, and reducing red meat in your diet, will help you get healthier and contribute to healthy weight loss. (No, I don't have the scientific facts and resources at my fingertips. Plus it would make this post too long.) Diversity in your meals is common sense to maintaining a healthy lifestyle and body.

Also, eating more chicken dishes can help save a little in the grocery bill, thus helping with monthly costs. So, if you are ready to eat more chicken and try a few adventurous recipes, I have just the place to start! Here's a few to get you going.

Chicken Tetrazzini

Chicken Breast in Mushroom Wine Sauce

Chicken Jambalaya

Chicken Marsala

Chicken Piccata

Whatever your new year's resolutions, do try one of our delicious chicken recipes. You may find a new favorite!
