More Easter Dinner Ideas

Thinking about Easter Dinner always brings back fond memories of sitting around my grandparents' table on Easter Sunday, preparing to pass around the ham, mashed potatoes and macaroni and cheese baked casserole. My grandmother is a farmer's wife so Easter Dinner included lots of hearty side dishes to go with the ham.

These days there are so many diverse dining cultures and food preferences coming together at dinner time, whether it be for a family Easter Dinner or simple guest dinner. I've gathered a few other alternatives to Easter Dinner below to help you - in the event that planning a diverse Easter Dinner falls on your shoulders!

Marinated Pork Loin

Onion Roasted Potatoes

Mediterranean Chicken

Pasta Primavera Salad

Old Fashioned Banana Bread

Regardless of food choices or diversity in dining tastes, Alicia's Recipes is sure to have something special and delicious for you to serve for Easter Dinner or your next guest dinner, whatever the occasion. Connect with us on Facebook for more foodie inspiration and fun!

Gulf Coast Guilty Pleasures!

Whether you're looking for some Mississippi Mud Pie or a tasty Louisiana Crawfish, you are sure to enjoy our recipe trip to the Gulf Coast region of the United States! And, although I fell short in finding exact matches for some of the states' famous foods, I came pretty close. Close enough that I think you'll like what you see and be motivated to give these guilty pleasures a go in your kitchen.

I always thought Louisiana would be most famous for something like King's cake, baked and eaten during Mardi Gras. But no, the natives down there prefer Crawfish when it comes to traditional eats. I came close with delicious Tuna & White Bean Salad to tempt your seafood loving taste buds.

In Mississippi, they are all about Mud Pie, which is fine in my book. As I had no pictures of a perfect Mud Pie, I substituted with this Rocky Road Clusters recipe.

Alabama was an easy one! Alabamans love all things Cornbread, and I had the perfect Johnny Cake Cornbread to tempt your tummy.

Another easy one to guess - Georgia is still in love with their favorite fruit, Peaches! Here is a Peach & Almond Bread recipe to try, just in time for Fall entertaining.

And we can't forget Florida. Can you say Oranges? I didn't have any Orange recipes that really jumped out at me so I included this Fruity Rice Pilaf, a nice dish to add those citrus gems to.

Deck the Halls with Breads and Pies!

Fah-la-la-la-la-la-la-la-la...We're very near to Christmas Day now (4 days to go by my calendar) and our Christmas baking countdown is coming to a close.  We've shared recipes over the phone, googled easy oliebollen recipes on the internet, called our mothers in a panic to get their famous fill-in-the-blank holiday recipes, and sank into the nearest chairs spent and tired from compiling the perfect Christmas menus!

And we aren't done yet!  Hang in there my friends.  We are in the home stretch.  A few more holiday parties and Christmas carols to go and then we can relax with a tall cup of steaming hot cocoa and watch our kids dismantle every single package under the tree.

Speaking of relaxing, here are some bread and pie recipes we can make up ahead of time to have on hand when the kids and in-laws get cranky because their blood sugar levels have plummeted to a new Christmas low.

Enjoy!  Remember to submit a photo of your results to our site, because we love to see what's shakin' and bakin' in your kitchen!
