Apple Salad


Spiced Applesauce

2 lbs tart cooking apples
1/2 - 2/3 cup sugar
1 tsp lemon juice
1/4 tsp cinnamon
1/8 tsp nutmeg

Wash, core, and peel apples then cut into quarters. In medium saucepan, bring 1/2 cup water to a boil. Add the apples and return to boiling. Reduce heat and simmer, covered, for 20-25 minutes, stirring occasionally



4 c. peeled sliced apples
1/2 c. water (less for juicy apples)
3/4 c. flour
1 c. white or brown sugar
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 c. butter
1/4 tsp. salt
Instructions
Butter a deep baking dish. Put in the pan 4 cups apples, 1/2 cup water (less for juicy apples). Mix with fork flour, brown or white sugar, cinnamon, butter, and salt. Pour over apples. Bake at 350 degrees about 30 minutes or until apples are tender.
