Brown Sugar Cookies

Today's recipe is...

Brown Sugar Cookies

Cream together with mixer until light and fluffy:

3 c. brown sugar
1 c. white sugar
1/2 c. butter
1/2 c. vegetable shortening

Add:
4 eggs
1 T. vanilla

Sift together and add slowly to above ingredients, mixing well

3/4 tsp. salt
1 T. soda
1 T. cream of tarter
6 c. all-purpose flour

Form the dough into four (4) equal balls. Tear off 4 pieces of aluminum foil, and place each ball on one. Then push the dough into a log about 2 inches high and 2 inches wide. Wrap them well and place in the refrigerator or freezer. When the dough is cold, cut in slices and bake at 350 degrees for about 8-10 minutes. Watch them close and when they appear cracked on the top, take them out. DO NOT BAKE THEM TOO LONG. Each log makes a cookie sheet full.
